Ability to demonstrate reasoning

Different ways students can demonstrate their reasoning include:

  • writing, especially about responses to tests and exercises
  • drawing and sketching
  • oral explanations (individual or group)
  • the use of technologies (e.g. interactive whiteboard or website facilities, spreadsheet formulas, PowerPoint)
  • showing how cases work
  • posters and other forms of presentation that include evidence of thinking.

The activity Mungo Man Poster is an example of a poster.

The activity Writing about Similar Triangles is an example of how students can add written reflections to typical test responses.
