What is in the Community?

The Connect with Maths community comprises of five education communities aimed to support the teaching of mathematics Birth to Year 12 with easy access to teachers in-time anywhere online.

There are four main areas of the Digital Learning and Mathematics' community activity:

  • Forum - the hub for all interactive discussions
  • Starting Points - stimulus for discussing pedagogies with Indigenous learners
  • Learning - community online professional learning
  • Resources - essential resources and weblinks

Forum

The Forum is the main hub for interactive discussions. You must be a Connect with Maths community member to participate in the Forum discussion.

Resources

Resources are essential Education documents about mathematics education and those contributed to by members of the Digital Learning and Mathematics' community. These include foundation curriculum documents for the Australian Curriculum: Mathematics and the General Capabilities for Information Communications Technology and Digital Learning Frameworks to develop challenging mathematics curriculum and strategies for all students.

Learning

This area is for community online professional learning. This may be in the form of resources (as an outcome of face-to-face or learning online), materials for professional learning or member contributed tutorials such as instructional videos.

Starting Points

Connect with Maths communities begin with a 'Starting Point' to encourage community discussion. Starting Points can be an image or video used as stimulus material for members to discuss key issues in teaching and engaging learners leveraging digital technologies. Members are welcome to contribute Starting Points through the Forum or to email the Connect with Maths team.
